Steamworld dig fall dampeners cave12/6/2023 ![]() You can widen your search path a bit at this point, considering that the mineral deposits are yielding much more valuable loot at this point than the ones earlier-on were. Return to the bottom of the room and exit back to the main cave.Ĭontinue digging downward, grabbing as many mineral deposits on your way as you can. Mine the Zoisite from it and cross to the left to mine an Orb deposit as well. Cross to the right one last time, then up to reach a ledge with a mineral deposit. At the top, make your way across to the left again, then up once more. You should see a health pickup, so jump up the wall there, grabbing it on the way. ![]() Go across to the right side, and again jump up to a ledge above, this one to the right. Wait for the acid dripping above on the far left side to open the way upward, and wall jump up to the ledge above. We skipped the first one in Old World, but we’ll loot this one.ĭig straight across to the left. Just a few metres below the pre-set teleporter, around the 260-265 metre depth mark, you should find another non-numbered cave (loot cave). You should be getting medium-to-high value items like Gold, Biotite, Amethyst, Obsidian, etc from mineral deposits now. Once that’s out of the way, return to town and use the teleporter to return to Old World. Since you used a pre-placed teleporter, you should also still have yours that you purchased earlier.Īt this point, if you didn’t do the Archaea Cave I – Sequence Breaker Visit step above, return there now (via the ladder) and use the dynamite-jump method to do it, assuming you can’t do the “trick jump”. You should now have the Drill-o-tron, four health bars, four water bars, and seven loot slots. Unload your loot and purchase the Sturdy Armor from Cranky, as well as the Gigantic Pouch from Biff. Use the pre-placed teleporter to return to town. ![]() Just remember to re-do any caves that you did since the last time you saved the game by visiting Tumbleton. It may be further left or right from where you’re digging, once again why sometimes taking multiple passes at each dig phase, via dashboarding, can help. Just remember that you can take multiple passes at each downward dig in the main cave, dashboarding out of the game to pick up from your last save in town if you take a poor path, so that you know the lay of the land.Īt around the 255-260 metre depth mark, you should find a pre-placed teleporter. Because of the RNG of the main cave’s creation, you can easily miss the 150-orb star at the end of the game if you don’t keep an eye out for them. Old World – Main Cave & Loot CaveĬontinue drilling downward, paying close attention for mineral and orb deposits, especially the latter. Beneath where they were, drill the mineral deposit for an Amethyst. Climb up the ladder to the left and set off the TNT barrels, retreating to a safe distance. Dig down through the soft dirt to the left (near where the large rock fell) to find another orb deposit. Climb up the shaft the rock left behind to reach an Orb deposit.ĭrop down to the right to get the Dynamite ability from the platform. It should drop down and crush the dweller below. ![]() Take the ladder to the upper-left from here, and drill a single block from under the large rock on the right. A short distance ahead you’ll see a cave dweller tossing bottles at you. Head right through the open barrier and drop down. Jump to the left across the TNT barrels/spike pits to reach a lever and activate it, opening a barrier to the right. Hit them with the drill or pickaxe, then quickly drop through the floor below they explode. Old World Cave IĪt the start, you should see a stack of TNT barrels to the right. Not far below where you filled your inventory and used your teleporter, around the 240-245 metre depth mark, you should reach Old World Cave I, the first numbered cave of this area. ![]() You should be obtaining the more valuable items like Amethyst, Gold, Galena, etc now. Return to the cave via the teleporter and continue digging down. Make sure to nab another teleporter when you’re in town after using it, as well as the Dual Tank upgrade (you should just have enough orbs to get both). That way your inventory is freshly empty and your cash is higher. Alternatively, just use your teleporter close to the Amethyst, unload quickly in town, warp back and grab it, and unload it as well. If you come across an Amethyst and don’t have room, toss your cheapest item (most likely a stack of just one or two Chocolotite) to make room for it, as Amethyst is worth $75 by itself. You’ll see a non-numbered cave (aka loot cave in my descriptions) at around the 195-metre mark, but ignore it and continue downward. You should be getting Galena, Chocolotite, and Dolomite in this area. Drill down, grabbing mineral deposits along the way. ![]()
